Good News Simplified: Arielle Barbopoulos Ms New York Christian Miss 2026
What is the good news? And why is it so important? So many people lack the basic knowledge of the gospel, even many Christians. The good news/gospel is the most important event for a Christian. The gospel is the explanation of how a person gets saved. God created everyone and everything. “...everything was created through him and for him” (Colossians 1:16). Therefore, every person is made in the image of God, and all have fallen short of the glory (Romans 3:23). God created the world, and it was good (Genesis 1:31). But sin entered the world, causing everyone to fall short of the glory of God (Romans 5:12). Every single one of us is a sinner. Even if we find ourselves doing good deeds and being kind, we are still sinners. We still break the commandments. No one is perfect. Only Jesus is perfect. The price of sin is eternal separation from God, which is hell. God loves us so much that He came in the form of a man (Jesus) to die and take the punishment we deserved (John 3:16). The good news is that we can be forgiven! Not by the good deeds we do, not by striving, but by accepting the free gift God gave us. If you confess and believe that Jesus is your Lord and Savior, repent of your sins, and believe that Jesus Christ rose from the grave on the 3rd day, you will be saved (Romans 10:9). Declaring Him as Savior means you accept that He is the only way to be made right with God (John 14:6). He paid the price for your sins. There is salvation in no one else (Acts 4:12). Declaring Him as Lord means you are giving your life to Him and living for Him instead of yourself or the world. Not accepting Christ means you willfully accept the punishment for your sin. Will you accept the free gift from God today?
Dear God,
I know that I’m a sinner. I believe that Jesus Christ, your son, died on the cross for my sins and rose from the dead to be my Lord. God, I now repent of my sins and personally invite Jesus into my life. Thank you, Jesus for giving me the free gift of eternal life. I promise to live for you as you reveal yourself to me through your word, the bible.
In Jesus name I pray,
Amen!
John 3:16~ “For this is how God loved the world: He gave his one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life”
Romans 10:9-10~ “If you openly declare that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is by believing in your heart that you are made right with God, and it is by openly declaring your faith that you are saved”
